This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

• Continuous evaluation of work at designated stop/inspection points throughout the construction process.

• Ensure compliance with BC Hydro’s/Owner's specifications and standards by conducting daily site visits during the project's construction phase.

• Supervise that the contractor’s underground plan complies with relevant safety regulations.

• Verify that the contractor’s work is completed satisfactorily according to BC Hydro’s/Owner's specifications and standards.

• Conduct final inspection and certification of installation work before authorizing site energization.

• High school diploma and completion of a basic civil inspection or survey course.

• At least 3 years of experience in utility construction, specifically related to electrical utility underground construction.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Civil Inspector or equivalent in the utility sector.

• Completion of the Power Supply Safety Program (PSSP) course within eight months of hiring.

• Responsible for completing PSSP recertification training every 2 years as mandated by BC Hydro.

• Proficient in desktop productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite or similar applications.

• Capability to interpret specifications, standards, and technical drawings.

• Previous experience in civil construction inspection or surveying is preferred.

• Excellent conflict resolution, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
