This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +6 more states.
• Oversee the design, engineering, and deployment of intricate CICS infrastructure solutions that align with enterprise business goals.
• Offer technical direction for extensive mainframe projects from the planning stage through to execution.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance highly available CICS environments.
• Collaborate with application development teams and infrastructure partners to provide scalable, secure, and dependable solutions.
• Assess emerging technologies and suggest strategies that enhance performance, resilience, and operational efficiency.
• Analyze complex infrastructure and application issues, pinpoint root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Install, configure, maintain, and optimize CICS and related system software products.
• Offer expertise in CICSPlex System Manager (CPSM), DB2 Data Sharing, MQ Shared Queue Managers, REXX, and z/OS.
• Provide advice and consultation to a diverse and extensive application development organization.
• Engage in an on-call rotation and assist with high-priority production incidents as required.
• Over 10 years of experience in CICS Systems Programming within enterprise mainframe settings.
• In-depth understanding of CICS architecture, internals, administration, and performance tuning.
• Significant experience in supporting and managing CICSPlex environments.
• Practical experience with z/OS, DB2 Data Sharing, MQ Shared Queue Managers, and REXX.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system and application challenges and implement effective resolutions.
• Experience leading technical projects and coordinating efforts among various teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to convey technical concepts to a wide range of audiences.
• Capacity to work independently and contribute effectively within large, cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to support a 24x7 production environment, including scheduled on-call duties.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
• Master-level expertise with CICSPlex and associated OEM products (preferred).
• Experience in influencing infrastructure strategies and technology roadmaps (preferred).
• Previous experience as a technical consultant or advisor in large-scale enterprise environments (preferred).
• Strong strategic thinking skills focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and business outcomes (preferred).
