Chief Technology Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Define and implement the technology strategy for the company’s B2C product portfolio.

• Convert commercial and product priorities into actionable engineering plans.

• Serve as a close technological partner to the CEO and senior leadership team.

• Identify technical opportunities and risks that may impact product growth, operational efficiency, and scalability.

• Make timely decisions and sustain execution momentum throughout the technology organization.

• Lead an engineering team of approximately 40–50 individuals across backend, frontend, full-stack, QA, and DevOps functions.

• Align engineering teams that support six business units and a variety of digital products.

• Enhance collaboration between engineering, product, and business stakeholders.

• Develop engineering leaders and establish clear accountability within teams.

• Assess the current organizational structure and implement changes to enhance delivery and ownership.

• Oversee the technical direction and architectural evolution of the company’s products.

• Ensure that systems remain secure, reliable, scalable, and maintainable.

• Direct technical decisions across a contemporary stack that includes Node.js, NestJS, Next.js, Kubernetes, and AWS.

• Enhance engineering standards, quality assurance practices, data protection, and operational reliability.

• Balance the need for long-term architectural quality with the urgency of delivering measurable business results.

• Increase development speed, predictability, and quality across various product teams.

• Establish clear engineering priorities, KPIs, and delivery expectations.

• Collaborate with product leaders to plan roadmaps and prioritize initiatives based on business value and technical feasibility.

• Monitor technology costs and ensure the efficient allocation of engineering resources.

• Eliminate organizational and technical bottlenecks that hinder execution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, Director of Engineering, Head of Engineering, or in a similar senior technology leadership role.

• Proven track record of leading and scaling an engineering organization of around 40–60 individuals.

• Familiarity with a portfolio of B2C SaaS products, subscription products, desktop applications, or mobile applications.

• Strong understanding of product engineering within a rapidly growing, founder-led, or startup setting.

• Demonstrated capability to enhance execution speed and lead organizational or technical transformations.

• Solid technical foundation with the ability to assess architecture and challenge technical decisions.

• Hands-on experience with Node.js, NestJS, Next.js or other SSR/SSG frameworks, Kubernetes, and AWS.

• Experience managing distributed and fully remote engineering teams.

• Ability to clearly communicate technology strategy to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Outstanding interpersonal and leadership abilities.

• Fluent in English.
