Chief Technology Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Build and expand a high-performing, globally distributed engineering team that aligns with MIE’s three-year product and technology roadmap.

• Define and implement a multi-year technology strategy that encompasses platform modernization, architectural evolution, and the scalability of core systems.

• Establish and operationalize contemporary software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, including sprint planning, quality assurance discipline, release management, and engineering best practices.

• Implement a metrics-driven engineering operational model, monitoring key performance indicators such as velocity, cycle time, defect rates, and on-time delivery.

• Lead the modernization of legacy architectures, including C, JavaScript, TypeScript, Linux-based components, and outdated databases, while ensuring product stability and timely delivery.

• Drive the maturity of CloudOps and infrastructure, focusing on automation, monitoring, and disaster recovery capabilities (targeting less than 24-hour recovery time objective).

• Develop and execute a structured strategy for reducing technical debt, prioritizing and addressing a significant backlog of defects through disciplined processes.

• Define and implement an AI strategy to enhance product capabilities and boost internal engineering velocity and efficiency.

• Establish API and platform strategies to facilitate extensibility, integrations, and future ecosystem growth.

• Collaborate closely with Product teams to define and execute a 12–18 month roadmap, ensuring alignment with company strategy, customer needs, and revenue goals.

• Work with Product and Go-To-Market leadership to enhance productization, transitioning from one-off solutions to scalable, repeatable offerings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven leadership experience in senior engineering roles within private equity-backed or high-growth B2B SaaS companies, preferably in the $25M–$75M revenue bracket.

• Demonstrated experience in modernizing legacy platforms (monolithic architectures, outdated databases, or older codebases) into scalable and contemporary systems.

• Strong history of building and scaling engineering organizations, including distributed and onshore-offshore team models.

• Extensive experience in implementing modern SDLC processes, engineering metrics, and operational rigor across development teams.

• Proven ability to define and execute multi-year technology roadmaps that align with product and business strategies.

• Hands-on experience in integrating AI into software products and/or engineering workflows to drive measurable outcomes.

• Established ability to effectively partner with Product leadership in delivering integrated, customer-focused roadmaps.
