This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define and implement the executive vision and roadmap for enterprise technology.
• Act as the primary technology consultant for the executive team and board, simplifying complex technical ideas into clear strategic guidance.
• Lead technology due diligence related to cybersecurity and prospective acquisitions or partnerships as needed by Private Equity stakeholders.
• Design and deploy effective AI/ML solutions across our platform to propel digital transformation efforts, utilizing AI, automation, and emerging technologies to gain competitive advantages.
• Create scalable data pipelines and analytics frameworks to integrate learner engagement data, partner data, and program impact metrics.
• Attain measurable productivity improvements through the use of AI tools, automation, and resource management.
• Develop a scalable model that accommodates growth without proportional increases in headcount, optimizing the distribution of AI, employee, and contractor resources.
• Formulate and oversee the annual technology budget, ensuring a return on investment for technology expenditures and vendor costs.
• Maintain 99.9%+ uptime across all proprietary platforms.
• Establish and track Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for technology services.
• Manage cloud infrastructure, database administration, and application performance optimization.
• Uphold SOC 2 Type II compliance, lead audit preparations, enforce enterprise security policies, and guarantee data privacy compliance.
• Collaborate with Executives, Product, Sales, and Marketing to deliver platform improvements promptly and within budget.
• Advocate for Agile development practices, continuous delivery, and user-centered design in all technological decisions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop direct reports across engineering, infrastructure, security, and operations.
• Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement, including regular check-ins and weekly one-on-one discussions with each direct report.
• Establish succession plans and a leadership pipeline within the technology organization.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required; a Master's degree (MBA or MS) is strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive technology leadership experience is essential.
• At least 5–7 years in a senior executive technology position (CTO, VP Engineering, VP Technology) with Profit and Loss responsibility.
• Demonstrated success in leading technology teams of 50+ individuals in high-growth SaaS environments.
• Experience in modernizing legacy platforms, integrating AI/ML capabilities into SaaS products, and working within EdTech, FinTech, or compliance-intensive industries.
• Previous experience in Private Equity-backed organizations undergoing operational transformation is highly desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of SaaS architecture and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, SOC 2 compliance, and information security management.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) architecture and educational technology.
• Experience with DevOps, Continuous Improvement/Development (CI/CD) pipelines, Agile methodologies, and data/API architecture.
• Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar technology budgets with accountability for ROI.
• Excellent vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
• Executive presence with the capability to influence C-suite colleagues and board members.
