This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a key member of the executive leadership team, influencing organizational strategy, culture, and enterprise-wide priorities.
• Recruit and mentor a high-achieving leadership team and staff, fostering a mission-driven culture that emphasizes scale, thoughtfulness, and urgency.
• Ensure that every program possesses a robust learning framework: well-defined hypotheses, thorough measurement, rapid iteration cycles, and transparent reporting. Utilize cost-effectiveness evidence to inform resource allocation — scaling successful initiatives and discontinuing those that do not yield results.
• Develop and maintain 2AI's open-sourced playbooks and insights — cultivating enduring field knowledge rather than merely executing programs.
• Establish and attain ambitious program strategies for 2AI's Agriculture and Health portfolios — including vision, priorities, delivery models, and expansion roadmaps — in close collaboration with the CEO and regional and program leads. Achieve significant reach and impact for hundreds of millions of individuals.
• Design and implement swift, rigorous pilots. This entails strong measurement and feedback mechanisms from inception, rapid adjustments for areas needing improvement, and clear decisions regarding what merits scaling.
• Remain at the forefront of AI-enabled solutions for low- and middle-income countries (LMICs); actively monitor, test, and incorporate emerging tools and methodologies. Exhibit intellectual curiosity and the capacity to learn quickly in a dynamic environment, translating what is technically feasible into what is practically scalable for underserved communities.
• Collaborate with technical and research teams to ensure that AI-driven methodologies are founded on solid evidence, tailored to local contexts, and designed for sustainable implementation.
• Act as 2AI's programmatic liaison among AI laboratories, global development entities, leading researchers, frontline practitioners, and regional governments — effectively communicating across these diverse domains.
• Shape technical offerings in partnership with top AI labs, including modifying AI tools for underrepresented languages, low-bandwidth settings, and last-mile contexts.
• Assist regional leaders — including our India Country Director — in managing government relationships, adoption pathways, and policy facilitation, providing strategic insights and senior representation as required.
• Spearhead fundraising initiatives — contributing to persuasive narratives for major funders, leading grant development efforts, and advocating for significant investments in the portfolio.
• Represent 2AI at senior levels in both public and private forums, enhancing 2AI's reputation as the leading ecosystem coordinator for AI implementation in LMICs.
• 15+ years of experience in developing and leading programs in global health, international development, or related fields, with a proven record of scaling complex initiatives to national or regional levels in low- and middle-income countries.
• A history of being a successful builder: you have established new programs and organizational functions in 3-5 countries, scaled initiatives nationwide across these countries, recruited and nurtured top talent, and fostered a culture of rigor and urgency.
• Preferred experience with AI clinical decision support, digital health, or AI in agriculture at the program design or implementation level.
• Experience in fundraising or engaging major donors — confident in advocating to large high-net-worth individuals or institutional funders. You have raised $5M+ annually.
• Familiarity with the operational dynamics of African and/or Asian governments, with sufficient experience to assist regional leaders in navigating institutional processes.
• Experience in bridging technical and programmatic sectors — global health delivery, market-shaping, technology for development, or related fields. Comfortable translating between AI labs, researchers, implementation organizations, and governmental counterparts.
• Strong fluency in AI: substantial working knowledge of cutting-edge AI tools and large language models (LLMs), and their practical applications in low-resource environments. Active curiosity about frontier development.
• Existing connections with major global health or agriculture funders, including bilateral donors, large foundations, and philanthropists in the tech sector, are advantageous.
• International health care
• HSA/FSA options
• Life insurance
• Disability coverage
• Retirement plans with a matching component
• Generous and flexible leave options
• Additional employee perks on a reimbursement basis
