This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee the operational framework across warehousing, logistics, inventory management, fulfillment, and special initiatives.

• Manage and enhance the contracted warehouse and 3PL network, including carrier and partner selection, performance evaluation, and network design.

• Direct the freight strategy for specialized cargo, which includes transformers, BESS, trackers, and modules, as well as managing heavy/oversized freight, permitting, hazmat handling for lithium-ion, and insurance requirements.

• Establish and maintain operational KPIs related to logistics, warehousing, inventory, and fulfillment, including metrics like on-time delivery, cost per shipment, damage rates, dwell time, inventory accuracy, claims ratio, and carrier performance.

• Evaluate the organizational structure, talent, and operational ownership while integrating and scaling warehouse, transportation, logistics, inventory, and fulfillment operations.

• Develop the business development and sales infrastructure that supports both business lines, focusing on pipeline management, forecasting, CRM, deal desk, and linking commercial activities to capacity and resource planning.

• Collaborate with Sales Leaders to convert their commercial strategies into repeatable and measurable processes, without directly managing customer relationships.

• Oversee pricing, margin management, and deal-desk discipline as part of enterprise functions.

• Create a data and reporting infrastructure that offers the executive team real-time insights into pipeline, backlog, and conversion rates.

• Lead the enterprise operating cadence, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews, KPI dashboards, and the processes that ensure accountability to the company’s objectives.

• Collaborate with the CEO, CFO, and Board to transform strategic priorities into operational plans and quarterly goals.

• Develop the operational framework, accountability structure, and decision-making processes necessary for scaling the business, acting as a thought partner to Sales Leaders on operational efficiency, organizational design, and execution within their business lines.

• Establish and expand a project management function to support increasingly complex customer projects.

• Set up project governance, operational handoffs, and cross-functional execution to guarantee timely, safe, and compliant project deliveries.

• Direct the strategy for operational systems, including WMS/TMS evaluation and implementation, CRM, deal desk tools, and operational integrations within the tech stack.

• Work closely with the CFO on NetSuite and the broader ERP landscape, with NetSuite functional support reporting to the CFO while maintaining a dotted line to the COO for operational priorities.

• Lead the IT Systems Product Manager and collaborate with corporate IT and shared services (under the CFO) to establish a unified and scalable technology environment.

• Advocate for data and analytics initiatives that foster enterprise-wide visibility and lead significant IT and operational transformation projects.

• Develop and manage the Compliance function as the business grows, ensuring proactive management of operational, transportation, warehouse, safety, and renewable energy compliance requirements.

• Oversee federal and state regulatory compliance for battery storage and renewable energy products, including DOT hazmat (lithium-ion) and state permitting for oversized loads.

• Supervise in-house counsel for commercial agreements (supplier, customer, 3PL, carrier) and the deal desk legal review process.

• Collaborate with Sales Leaders on commercial contract strategies and uphold consistent legal and deal-desk discipline across the company’s commercial activities.

• Lead and develop the operations team while assessing talent, organizational effectiveness, and opportunities for performance enhancement. Manage relationships with offshore contractor partners who support administrative and operational functions.

• Act as a strategic partner to the Board, CEO, and executive team, contributing to enterprise strategy and growth planning.

⛳️ Requirements

• More than 15 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, supply chain, or general management, with a minimum of 8 years in a senior executive position (COO, SVP Operations, GM, or equivalent).

• Proven experience in building and implementing operating systems within a growth-stage organization, including KPIs, operating cadence, deal desk, and planning processes.

• Experience leading operations in a logistics or distribution business that handles heavy industrial or renewable energy products (transformers, BESS, trackers, modules, or similar).

• Demonstrated success in leading IT and systems projects — WMS, TMS, ERP (NetSuite preferred), CRM — from strategy through execution.

• Experience managing a multi-site or contracted warehouse network at scale.

• Proven ability to lead through influence and structural authority, having built BD/sales infrastructure that sales leaders depend on.

• Experience in establishing or leading a compliance function.

• Strong executive presence with the capability to collaborate effectively with a CEO, Board, and senior executive peers.

• Demonstrated success in assessing, restructuring, and scaling organizations while balancing strategic leadership with hands-on operational execution.

• Experience in building or leading formal project management functions, methodologies, or operational excellence initiatives.
