Chief Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee engineering execution at an executive level across all programs, ensuring alignment with Division goals and accountability for outcomes.

• Function as the leader for a team of Solution Architects, guiding direction, nurturing talent, and ensuring alignment with the Division's strategy and program requirements.

• Promote standardized engineering processes, ensure architecture alignment, and enforce lifecycle rigor throughout the Division.

• Spearhead the integration of emerging technologies (cloud, automation, DevSecOps, AI/ML where applicable) into mission environments.

• Direct technical solution development for growth opportunities, including RFIs, proposals, and capture strategies, ensuring alignment with Division objectives and customer requirements.

• Act as a senior technical liaison to government clients and partners, fostering trust and influencing strategic direction.

• Ensure effective coordination among engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and modernization initiatives across the Division.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree with 15 – 20 years of relevant prior experience or a Doctorate with 13 – 16 years of relevant prior experience.

• Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

• Experience in supporting Defense Agencies and 4th Estate environments.

• Background in large-scale enterprise IT environments involving millions of users and extensive endpoint populations.

• Knowledge of DevSecOps, AI/ML integration, HPC, and large-scale migration projects.

• Proven leadership experience in large, complex, multi-program environments.

• Extensive expertise in enterprise IT modernization, cloud architecture, and cybersecurity, including Zero Trust principles.

• Experience in leading and developing technical leaders and managing distributed teams.

• Excellent executive communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
