Chief Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Oversee the systems-level architecture, design, integration, initial lab/field testing, site deployment, and knowledge transfer for NGG Zero Trust capabilities.

• Lead and coordinate cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) across networking, compute/storage, hardware integration, software integration, and cybersecurity.

• Define and take ownership of the Zero Trust technical strategy encompassing identity, access, segmentation, visibility, and policy enforcement.

• Ensure the maturity of solutions through comprehensive subsystem design documentation, testing, and enterprise-level deployment.

• Manage requirements, identify and mitigate risks, plan tests, transition operations, and oversee lifecycle systems engineering.

• Coordinate RMF/JSIG compliance, eMASS/A&A activities, STIG enforcement, asset and product support submissions, and contract data deliverables.

• Prepare and present briefings, technical decision documents, and roadmap suggestions to senior military and civilian leaders.

• Assist with engineering integration, design reviews, site assessments, site readiness, equipment installation, and deployment.

• Travel to Hanscom AFB and other CONUS and OCONUS base locations as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must currently possess a Secret clearance, with final Secret clearance required; TS with SCI eligibility is preferred.

• US citizenship is mandatory.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for education.

• At least 10 years of experience in enterprise IT engineering and architecture.

• Proven experience in leading cross-functional engineering teams through design, integration, testing, and fielding processes.

• Demonstrated experience in leading IPTs covering networking, compute/storage, hardware integration, software integration, and cybersecurity.

• Experience in supporting an engineering team to develop, integrate, and implement a Zero Trust solution.

• Proficient in executive communications with O-6/GS-15 level stakeholders.

• Preferred experience as Lead Systems Engineer or Chief Engineer on large, complex DoD acquisition programs.

• Previous leadership experience managing teams that deliver Zero Trust solutions in multi-enclave environments is preferred.

• Experience supporting AFLCMC/HNIB environments and collaborating with joint/service component stakeholders is preferred.

• Familiarity with cloud and enterprise architecture, including AWS/Azure, enterprise network modernization, architecture roadmaps, and governance is preferred.

• Azure or AWS Solution Architect certification is preferred.

• Active CISSP or CSSIP certification is preferred.

• Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator certification is preferred.

• Ability to travel 25–50% of the time is required.
