This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports the organization's growth and long-term sustainability.
• Lead and expand a multi-channel fundraising initiative, including major gifts, principal gifts, institutional contributions, corporate partnerships, advocacy fundraising, and emerging revenue opportunities.
• Personally oversee and solicit a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects, securing transformative six- and seven-figure donations.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing national development team while promoting accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
• Collaborate closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to ensure fundraising strategies align with organizational priorities.
• Work alongside both Co-Founders to leverage their visibility, relationships, and leadership in donor cultivation and stewardship efforts.
• Enhance fundraising operations through effective pipeline management, forecasting, performance metrics, donor analytics, and CRM utilization.
• Engage and assist the Board of Directors and key volunteers in fundraising strategies, donor engagement, and stewardship efforts.
• Act as a prominent ambassador for Sandy Hook Promise, engaging with donors, foundations, corporate partners, policymakers, and external stakeholders.
• Cultivate a collaborative fundraising culture that embodies Sandy Hook Promise's commitment to inclusion, respect, and bipartisan violence prevention.
• Extensive senior fundraising leadership experience within a national nonprofit or similarly complex mission-driven organization.
• Proven track record in developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies across various revenue streams.
• Established history of personally cultivating, soliciting, and closing six- and seven-figure donations.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing fundraising teams.
• Strong executive leadership abilities with experience collaborating across departments and with governing boards.
• Proficient in building fundraising infrastructure, utilizing CRM systems, setting performance metrics, and leveraging data to inform strategy.
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and executive presence.
• Experience with both 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) fundraising is highly preferred.
• Candidates lacking direct c4 experience should demonstrate familiarity with advocacy fundraising.
• Experience in politically nuanced or bipartisan environments is preferred.
• Experience leading in a fully remote or geographically distributed organization is advantageous.
