This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and execute strategies that enhance fundraising effectiveness, elevate Board engagement, and promote organization-wide support for philanthropy and donor stewardship.
• Collaborate closely with the CEO to identify, cultivate, solicit, and nurture major and principal gift prospects.
• Personally engage with a portfolio of Mercy For Animals’ highest-capacity donors, foundations, and strategic funding partners, securing transformational gifts that support organizational priorities.
• Lead and mentor the fundraising team, encouraging professional development and aligning efforts with the organization's mission and objectives.
• Manage and optimize CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, to improve fundraising efficiency and effectiveness.
• Utilize advanced digital fundraising and marketing strategies, including social media, email marketing, online platforms, and innovative approaches involving emerging technologies.
• Establish strong, collaborative relationships across departments, especially between public engagement and fundraising as well as programmatic teams, to create integrated campaigns that enhance organizational reach and impact.
• Leverage data, forecasting, pipeline management, and performance analytics to drive donor acquisition, retention, revenue growth, and overall fundraising effectiveness.
• Act as a credible, inspiring leader and spokesperson for the organization, engaging effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, from board members to the wider community.
• Proven track record of achieving ambitious revenue goals through a blend of strategic fundraising leadership, donor engagement, team development, and disciplined execution.
• Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams, lead organizational change, enhance fundraising infrastructure, and implement innovative strategies that accelerate revenue growth.
• Ability to serve as a mentor, educating the organization and its stakeholders on the significance of philanthropy and best practices in fundraising.
• Expertise in cultivating strategic partnerships and fostering interdepartmental collaborations to drive fundraising success.
• Advanced analytical skills, with a focus on strategic planning to achieve immediate victories and long-term growth.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of inspiring, engaging, and clearly articulating visions and strategies to diverse audiences.
• Proven capability to create systems, processes, accountability, and cross-functional engagement that promote sustainable and diversified revenue growth.
• Proficient in budget management, forecasting future financial needs, and reconciling financial statements.
• Extensive knowledge of fundraising techniques, strategies, and trends, such as major, principal, and estate gifts; grants administration; estate administration; foundations and corporate donor stewardship; high-net-worth individual giving; and prospect research.
• Comfortable serving as a visible ambassador for the organization with donors, foundations, board members, and external stakeholders.
