This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Create lifelike representations of human and creature characters with a focus on photorealism: capturing anatomy, likeness, costumes, gear, aging, damage, and how materials interact with light.
• Generate turnarounds, expression sheets, lighting references, and material samples that are technically robust for modelers and texture artists.
• Collaborate with the Art Director to define silhouette styles, color schemes, and cultural authenticity for various factions.
• Rapidly iterate in 2D to confirm forms under realistic lighting conditions.
• Over 4 years of experience in games, film, or VFX, producing photoreal character concept art that has been released.
• A portfolio showcasing accurate facial likenesses and a wide emotional spectrum.
• Extensive understanding of human and animal anatomy, proportions, and aging processes.
• Expertise in skin subsurface rendering, fabric textures, metal reflections, and weathering effects.
• Capability to replicate real-world camera lenses and lighting conditions.
• Proficiency in Photoshop.
• Strong visual communication abilities.
• Self-motivated, eager for feedback, and able to excel in a fully remote, timezone-diverse team.
• Work remotely from anywhere across the globe.
