Chaplain Resident

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• The Chaplain Resident engages directly in patient care.

• This hands-on experience and reflection on real pastoral encounters enhance the chaplain's learning process.

• Trainees are designated to specific areas, serving as ecumenical chaplains, tasked with delivering pastoral care to patients, families, and staff.

• Trainees participate in interdisciplinary meetings and collaborate with other professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.

• Chaplain trainees also share on-call responsibilities, which offer valuable learning experiences during healthcare crises.

• The Chaplain Resident will report directly to the Director of Pastoral Care and Clinical Pastoral Education Training Programs.


⛳️ Requirements

• A four (4) year undergraduate degree (BA or BS) from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation is mandatory.

• A seminary graduate degree (Master of Divinity, Theology, Counseling, or equivalent) from a seminary or theological school accredited by the Association of Theological Schools or a similarly recognized accrediting body, or a master’s degree from an accredited organization acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation is preferred.

• A minimum of one (1) unit (400 hours) of Clinical Pastoral Education Training is advantageous.

• The ideal candidate should possess a theological and psychological comprehension of religious and human dynamics, medical ethics, and have demonstrated knowledge of the pastoral counseling role in a healthcare environment, with an ecumenical perspective and approach.
