This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Act as a subject matter expert on cancer registry data standards, abstraction workflows, and reporting requirements.
• Provide organized walkthroughs of the registry lifecycle, covering casefinding, abstraction, coding, and quality assurance through to submission and feedback.
• Offer guidance on the interpretation of data dictionaries, staging schemas, and coding logic utilized across U.S. registries.
• Clarify the daily workflows of registrars, highlighting their interactions with electronic health records (EHRs), pathology feeds, and state/federal reporting systems.
• Examine data models, variable mappings, and possible automation use cases to ensure consistency with registry standards.
• Engage in periodic remote review meetings with technical and product teams.
• Provide occasional insights on UI/UX mockups, training materials, and prototypes related to registry data capture.
• Share in-depth experience regarding the roles of cancer registrars, the registry lifecycle, technical tools, data standards, and teaching or advisory engagements.
• Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credential in good standing (mandatory).
• 5–10+ years of practical experience in cancer registry operations.
• Experience should ideally encompass both facility-based and central registry environments.
• Profound knowledge of cancer case abstraction, staging, and coding conventions.
• Understanding of data validation and quality assurance workflows.
• Familiarity with NAACCR-style data items.
• Acquaintance with common registry abstraction and validation tools.
• Experience with reporting workflows to state or national programs.
• Comprehension of AJCC, TNM, ICD-O, SSDI, and related coding frameworks.
• Exceptional communication abilities.
• Capacity to convey intricate registry processes to interdisciplinary teams.
• Availability for approximately 8–10 hours per week.
