Certified Sterile Processing Technician, Learning Mentor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct regular 1:1 mentorship sessions with assigned students as per the schedule.

• Reinforce essential sterile processing principles corresponding to CRCST exam domains.

• Assist students in applying their coursework to practical sterile processing workflows.

• Aid students in gaining confidence while navigating unfamiliar healthcare terminology and environments.

• Provide encouragement, accountability, and structured guidance on progress.

• Support students in their preparation for the CRCST certification exam.

• Strengthen understanding of domain-level concepts, including:

• Offer practical strategies for exam readiness and knowledge retention.

• Help students pinpoint areas that need further review.

• Ensure students comprehend the expectations within hospital-based sterile processing environments.

• Share real-world examples from sterile processing workflows.

• Assist students in linking technical knowledge to their workplace responsibilities.

• Reinforce professionalism standards within healthcare settings.

• Address student inquiries related to course concepts between mentorship sessions.

• Monitor student engagement and learning progress closely.

• Escalate risk indicators to the Springboard support team when necessary.

• Collaborate with Live Instructors and Springboard’s learning team to identify student learning trends.

• Provide feedback on challenges students face with CRCST-related materials.

• Contribute insights that enhance the learning experience during the program launch.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current CRCST certification through HSPA.

• At least 3–5 years of experience as a sterile processing technician.

• Preference for candidates with experience in a hospital-based sterile processing department.

• Prior experience supporting trainees, students, or new sterile processing staff (as a preceptor, trainer, mentor, or instructor).

• Capability to clearly explain sterilization workflows and infection prevention concepts to learners without prior healthcare experience.

• Reliable internet access is a must (no hotspots).

• Comfort with online learning platforms and video meeting tools is essential.

• Ability to respond to Springboard communications within 24 hours.

• Ability to reply to student inquiries within 24–48 business hours.

• Strong empathy and communication skills towards students.

• Positive perspective on the sterile processing profession and career pathways.

• Must reside and work in the United States.
