This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Operates under supervision and reviews/deciphers health record documentation to identify all diagnoses and procedures relevant to the outpatient visit.
β’ Evaluates the adequacy of health record documentation to confirm it substantiates all diagnoses and procedures for which codes are assigned.
β’ Utilizes knowledge of anatomy and physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, and diagnostic and procedural terminology to accurately assign codes to diagnoses and procedures.
β’ Maintains a solid understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding classification systems.
β’ Reviews and executes data charge entries into both hospital and physician patient accounting systems for outpatient clinic visits.
β’ Organizes tasks to ensure all assigned work queues are reviewed and properly prioritized on a daily basis.
β’ Executes other duties as assigned.
β’ High School Diploma or GED.
β’ Must possess knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding systems.
β’ One of the following certifications is required: CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA.
β’ An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management is preferred.
β’ Preferred two (2) years of coding experience.
