
Certified Pharmacy Technician – Data Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Deliver outstanding customer service in a phone-centric environment
• Accurately enter and process a high volume of prescription data
• Handle prescription authorizations, clarifications, and transfers
• Conduct claim adjudication and auditing, which includes prior authorizations, billing, and eligibility checks
• Make outbound calls to patients
• Address patient-care issues from current case queues
• Act as a liaison between clinical pharmacists and other healthcare professionals on behalf of patients
• Collaborate with technicians and pharmacists to onboard new patients
• Keep confidential patient records secure
• Retrieve and confirm prescription information through calls to doctors
• Initiate welcome calls to newly onboarded patients
• Create, maintain, and update patient medication profiles
• Provide backup support during peak call volume periods
• Assist patients with inquiries over the phone
• Support ExactCare’s nationwide patient base in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

• Perform other assigned duties
• High school diploma or GED
• Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health Association (NHA), with a current certificate
• Maintain pharmacy technician registration with the State Board of Pharmacy
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Previous experience in a pharmacy setting
• Ability to work in an office or remote setting, sitting at a desk 90% of the time
• Comfortable in a phone-based work environment
• Ability to work independently
• Proficient in using computer equipment, technology, and various software programs
• Excellent customer service skills for assisting doctors’ offices, pharmacists, and patients via phone
• Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceuticals
• Familiarity with pharmacy billing processes
• Understanding of prescription-taking, clarification, and transfer procedures
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Strong prioritization and organizational abilities
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
• Critical thinking skills to document relevant details in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Physical ability to hear, see, sit, stand, talk, and walk
• Must be able to travel to multiple site locations within the assigned territory
• May need to work extended hours
• Availability outside regular business hours on an ad-hoc basis
