Certified Pharmacy Technician – Billing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver outstanding customer service in a phone-centric environment

• Accurately and efficiently input large volumes of prescription data

• Handle prescription authorizations, clarifications, and transfers

• Execute claim adjudication and auditing, including prior authorizations, billing, and eligibility verifications

• Conduct outbound calls to patients

• Manage current case queues to address patient-care concerns

• Act as a liaison between clinical pharmacists and other healthcare professionals on behalf of patients

• Collaborate with technicians and pharmacists to onboard new patients

• Ensure the confidentiality and accuracy of patient records

• Obtain and verify prescription details through calls to doctors

• Initiate welcome calls to newly onboarded patients

• Create, maintain, and update medication profiles

• Provide backup support during periods of high patient call volume

• Respond to patient inquiries via phone

• Support ExactCare’s nationwide patient base in a fast-paced, high-volume setting

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health Association (NHA) with current certification

• Active pharmacy technician registration with the State Board of Pharmacy

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Previous experience in a pharmacy environment

• Capability to work in an office or remote setting, primarily seated at a desk

• Comfort in a phone-based work environment

• Ability to work independently

• Proficiency in using computer equipment, technology, and various software applications

• Exceptional customer service abilities

• Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceuticals

• Understanding of pharmacy billing

• Familiarity with prescription intake, clarifications, and transfers

• Clear written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Capacity to think critically and document essential details in compliance with state and federal laws

• Must be eligible to work in the country

• Willingness to commute to various site locations within the assigned territory

• Availability to work extended hours as needed and outside of regular business hours on an ad-hoc basis
