This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Reviews medical records of patients and extracts data for oncology registries.
• Accurately and consistently applies registry specifications, definitions, and criteria for inclusion and exclusion, along with abstraction guidelines.
• Ensures adherence to NCRA and other relevant guidelines to maintain the integrity and quality of registry data.
• Works collaboratively with oncology program leadership, performance improvement teams, and clinical personnel to clarify documentation and support the goals of the oncology program.
• Inputs precise and complete data into designated registry platforms, EHRs, vendor tools, or other data collection systems.
• Upholds a high standard of abstraction accuracy, completeness, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Achieves assigned productivity expectations, weekly progress objectives, and meets both internal and client deadlines.
• Engages in quality assurance activities, including providing feedback, making corrections, validating data, and conducting IRR reviews.
• Communicates in a professional manner with account leads, team members, and client contacts when clarification is necessary.
• Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to ADN, client, HIPAA, and data security requirements.
• A current Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) is mandatory.
• At least 1 year of experience in oncology registry work is required; 2 or more years of experience is preferred.
• A comprehensive understanding of oncology registry processes, coding, registry regulations, and manuals, including SEER, AJCC, and other relevant standards.
• Capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, documentation skills, and follow-through.
• Proficiency in navigating multiple EHRs, registry platforms, vendor tools, and data collection systems as assigned.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication capabilities.
• Contractors must possess high-speed secure internet, a PC or laptop, and at least two monitors.
