Certified Medical Assistant – Contract, Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist patients in connecting to telehealth video consultations and resolve technical issues.

• Support patients throughout the virtual intake procedure, ensuring a smooth experience.

• Gather and record vital signs, medical history, and conduct medication reconciliation.

• Administer and complete screening questionnaires as part of the patient intake process.

• Manage incoming calls, evaluate patient requirements, and offer suitable guidance.

• Provide live phone support to respond to inquiries and address concerns prior to appointments.

• Proactively oversee patient care workflows from initial outreach to case resolution.

• Elevate any abnormal or elevated vital signs, medical history issues, or other clinical concerns to Registered Nurses (RNs).

• Precisely document all patient interactions utilizing electronic health records (EHR), including but not limited to AthenaOne and Healthie; ensure all calls are recorded through platforms such as Salesforce; employ phone call scripts and EHR macros.

• Organize patient cases based on screening results and vital signs for follow-up and prioritization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant (remote CMA experience is preferred).

• Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT.

• High school diploma or equivalent (higher education is a plus).

• Experience managing high call volumes in a fast-paced setting.

• Proficient in EHR systems for documentation, with a preference for AthenaOne experience.

• Tech-savvy with the capability to swiftly adapt to new platforms, including Slack and Google Suite.

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.

• Capacity to work independently and efficiently prioritize tasks.
