Certified Medical Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Ensure the accuracy of patient records.

• Exhibit empathy and professionalism across all communication channels, including phone, video, email, Slack, text, and patient portal messages.

• Handle a substantial volume of prior authorizations.

• Execute clinical administrative tasks within the scope of certification.

• In accordance with provider instructions, demonstrate precise, timely, and efficient follow-through with pharmacy refills, as well as obtaining, reporting, and tracking lab results, medical records, leaving phone messages, and responding to patient inquiries.

• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and safeguard all patient health information (PHI) as per Federal and state laws.

⛳️ Requirements

• National Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA) from NHA, AMT, or AAMA is mandatory.

• Prior experience with the CoverMyMeds system is a requisite.

• Experience in submitting prior authorizations for weight loss medications both electronically and via phone is required.

• Over 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant (post externship) is highly desirable, especially if you have telehealth and/or remote work experience!

• A minimum of 2 years of current ATHENA ONE outpatient EMR experience is required (must have used Athena in 2024 and 2025), along with 5 or more years of overall EMR experience.
