This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Manage the scheduling, cancellation, rescheduling, and registration of outpatient visits and procedures across various ambulatory clinics.
• Gather all essential information required for preparing schedules and registrations.
• Obtain and verify patient guarantor information at least once a year to maintain up-to-date patient records.
• Schedule and register patients/customers in accordance with scheduling guidelines and medical appropriateness for the respective clinic.
• Collect all necessary details from patients/customers to facilitate scheduling and registration for appointments.
• Identify and communicate any needs for scheduling adjustments and improvements.
• Inform the relevant personnel promptly of any scheduling changes resulting from patient cancellations.
• Address and respond to the needs and complaints of patients and staff appropriately within the “patient care” environment, involving department supervisors and patient representatives as necessary.
• Collaborate with referring physician’s offices to ensure that written and/or electronic orders are obtained and in place as required.
• Verify the completeness of written orders and notes upon receipt.
• Document the requests made for outside orders.
• Complete Workques and daily tasks promptly as per the scheduling area of focus.
• Respond to all patient communications in a timely manner.
• Escalate any urgent needs to the appropriate area of responsibility.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a state criminal background check and federal background check (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.
• Standard office environment.
