CD Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines to guarantee deployment readiness and validate all deployment artifacts from an operational standpoint.

• Establish and uphold quality assurance protocols, which include standard operating procedures and effective test reporting.

• Develop rollback strategies and comprehensive operational monitoring for all production deployments.

• Oversee monitoring, incident management, problem handling, and change management within a multi-tenant managed Kubernetes environment.

• Track system health, performance metrics, and service availability, addressing incidents to minimize service interruptions.

• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive measures to enhance platform stability.

• Automate recurring operational tasks and critical processes to decrease toil and enhance service reliability.

• Validate automated procedures throughout the entire software development lifecycle, including staging and testing.

• Execute logging and monitoring strategies to meet security and audit compliance requirements.

• Perform routine security scans and address vulnerabilities across the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional proficiency in both English and German (minimum C1 level)

• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on operational experience with self-managed Kubernetes clusters and production applications in on-premise settings

• In-depth understanding of networking concepts, including protocols, load balancing, and security measures

• Extensive experience with CI/CD processes and tools, such as GitLab, Jenkins, Tekton, or ArgoCD

• Basic knowledge of core operations processes, including incident, change, and problem management (ITSM), along with SRE concepts

• Experience in extracting operational insights from monitoring and observability tools, including managing SLI/SLA/SLOs

• Demonstrated ability to document procedures and enforce well-defined runbooks or playbooks

• Practical experience with monitoring and logging stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, Mimir, or Loki
