Casual Student Design Assistant, Canva

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Graphic Design using Canva: tasks will involve utilizing pre-established layouts and refining client projects, adjusting designs, and compiling designs with text, photos, and graphics provided by clients. Throughout all assignments, the Design Assistant is required to uphold the university’s visual identity standards.

• Project Coordination: oversee and proactively communicate the various phases of projects, timelines, and any adjustments in scope with supervisors and clients.

• Client Management: During an active request, the Design Assistant will handle direct communication with the client, which includes discussing the suitability of assets, edit cycles, and necessary changes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Alberta.

• At least 1 year of formal or informal experience in creating designs using Canva, with a basic understanding of file formats and text/image settings.

• Basic comprehension of visual identity and the ability to apply brand guidelines to design materials.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Capability to meet tight deadlines and effectively prioritize tasks.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Proven attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

• Customer service orientation.
