Cash Application Operations Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Accurately and promptly apply incoming customer payments.

• Examine payment and remittance details to align payments with customer accounts and invoices.

• Investigate unapplied or misapplied cash and other payment inconsistencies.

• Provide assistance with short payments, overpayments, credits, and deductions.

• Maintain documentation for ACH remittance and check payments.

• Aid in reconciling customer accounts and payment activities.

• Work collaboratively with Collections, Accounting, Sales, and other departments to address payment inquiries.

• Update internal systems with precise payment information and notes.

• Support the generation of basic Cash Application and unapplied cash reports.

• Adhere to Cash Application procedures and internal controls.

• Request further remittance details from internal teams or customers as needed.

• Elevate complex payment issues to the relevant team member or supervisor.

• Complete necessary financial and compliance forms in accordance with company guidelines.

• Conduct basic customer credit verifications and review associated documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in Accounts Receivable, Cash Application, or a comparable finance operations position.

• Strong grasp of cash application processes, payment reconciliation, unapplied cash, deductions, credits, and account modifications.

• Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.

• Advanced Excel capabilities with the ability to analyze AR and payment data.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Preferred experience in process improvement, automation, or high-volume cash application settings.
