This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Deliver personalized career coaching and employment counseling to assist clients in identifying and achieving their professional aspirations.
• Evaluate clients' education, work history, skills, interests, strengths, and employment barriers.
• Create tailored employment plans with achievable goals, milestones, and opportunities for career advancement.
• Assist clients in exploring career options, workforce training, and labor market possibilities.
• Provide support throughout the job search process, including resume writing, cover letter preparation, application submissions, interview coaching, networking, and utilizing online job search tools.
• Mentor clients on workplace professionalism, confidence, self-advocacy, and skills for job retention.
• Foster trusting relationships that promote client engagement and long-term success.
• Recognize employment barriers and connect clients with community resources and supportive services, such as workforce training, education, financial counseling, mental health, housing, transportation, childcare, and volunteer/work experience opportunities.
• Monitor client progress and adapt employment plans as necessary.
• Assess and document TANF eligibility, ensuring participants comprehend program requirements and available services.
• Maintain precise case documentation and confidentiality in accordance with TANF regulations and NVFS guidelines.
• Track participant engagement, employment achievements, credential attainment, and other required performance indicators while striving toward program objectives.
• Organize workshops, collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners, and represent NVFS at outreach events.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a related field such as coaching, adult education, or workforce development, demonstrating success in relationship building.
• Proven experience serving high-barrier, low-income, or vulnerable populations, including non-English speaking and low literacy adults, which may encompass volunteering, internships, and/or personal lived experiences.
• Proficient in oral and written English; bilingual fluency in client languages (such as Spanish, Amharic, and/or Arabic) is advantageous.
• Ability to establish trusting relationships with individuals from various backgrounds while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong digital and technical skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with a Customer Management System or Case Management System, such as Apricot.
• Certification in workforce development or resume writing is a plus.
