Career-Focused Counsellor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Guide potential clients through the signature “Turning Point” initial counseling session.

• Establish rapport and enroll clients into ongoing coaching programs tailored to their individual needs.

• Deliver extensive, long-term coaching programs ranging from 3 months to a year.

• Offer career guidance for transitions and job searches, including resume reviews, interview coaching, and job-search assistance.

• Address emotional and life challenges such as stress, anxiety, and identity disruption.

• Utilize AI tools for career development research, focusing on labor market trends and job-search strategies.

• Provide psychoeducation and implement HeartMath and body-centered approaches to enhance well-being.

• Maintain collaborative, non-judgmental client relationships through regular engagement and check-ins.

• Document client progress within the CRM system.

• Organize sessions with clear action plans and measurable outcomes.

• Manage approximately 10-15 clients each week.

• Efficiently handle workflow, client interactions, and administrative responsibilities.

• Actively contribute to a collaborative team environment.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside in Canada.

• 3-5+ years of focused experience in Career Counseling.

• Familiarity with HeartMath tools and methodologies; willingness to incorporate them into career counseling practices.

• Advanced skills in helping clients manage anxiety through cognitive and somatic techniques.

• Minimum training and/or certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

• Expertise in areas such as career transitions, job loss, identity disruption, the impact of AI, and labor market trends.

• Proven ability to utilize AI tools for career development research.

• High proficiency in sales and client enrollment for coaching programs.

• Knowledge of positive psychology and capacity to coach on broader life issues.

• Essential proficiency with CRM systems for client management, scheduling, and progress tracking.

• Services must be eligible for insurance coverage and recognized by leading insurers.

• Current and ongoing professional insurance coverage valid for private practice is mandatory.

• Capability to facilitate counseling effectively in a remote environment.

• Strong administrative skills and advanced proficiency in CRM software.

• Eligible professional designation such as Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Psychologist, Social Worker (MSW or RSW), CCC, RCC, RCT, or equivalent in the candidate’s home province.

• HeartMath facilitator certification can be obtained post-hire, but alignment with and willingness to integrate the approach is required.
