This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Care Access Coordinator is a non-clinical support position dedicated to facilitating efficient access to behavioral health services through precise administrative practices, responsive customer service, and effective collaboration among members, providers, and clinical teams.
• Manage authorizations, input and audit data, and oversee documentation across various systems to ensure accuracy and optimize workflow.
• Assist clinical operations by handling correspondence (letters, faxes) and by maintaining prompt, compliant records that adhere to productivity standards.
• Act as a primary resource by addressing inquiries related to benefits, authorizations, and referrals while confirming member information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide exceptional service through compassionate communication, basic assessments, and escalate high-risk or crisis circumstances to clinical personnel.
• Assess cases and direct them appropriately to clinical teams, ensuring the timely and accurate flow of information for care decisions.
• Gather and disseminate essential data (e.g., discharge information, provider updates) to facilitate continuity of care and interdepartmental collaboration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related healthcare field PLUS 1+ year of experience in a healthcare, managed care, behavioral health, and/or customer service environment OR a high school diploma PLUS 3+ years of experience in a healthcare, managed care, behavioral health, and/or customer service environment.
• Proficient in computer skills, including the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously and accurately enter or retrieve data.
• Capable of talking and typing concurrently while navigating systems during real-time member interactions.
• Must be able to pass a background check upon hiring and throughout employment, which includes criminal felony & misdemeanor searches, SSN validation/trace search (LEIE), education verification (highest degree obtained), civil upper and lower searches, a 7-year employment report, federal criminal search, statewide criminal search, widescreen plus national criminal search, healthcare sanctions-state med (SAM), national sex offender registry, prohibited parties (OFAC) (terrorist watchlist), and a 10-Panel Drug Screen.
