Capstone Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Guide graduate students throughout all stages of the Final Project (Capstone).

• Conduct meetings with students as per the approved advising schedule, offering insights on topic selection, research design, and project milestones.

• Oversee each phase of the Final Project, evaluate interim deliverables, and ensure adherence to set deadlines.

• Take part in formal defense panels for assigned students; fairly assess presentations and final submissions.

• Prepare and submit all required documentation to formalize, record, and track students' progress in the Capstone process.

• Regularly monitor activity in the LMS, confirm students' required postings, and proactively intervene when performance indicators fall short of expectations.

• Foster ongoing student engagement throughout the project by delivering constructive and timely feedback.

• Participate in program coordination sessions, mandatory meetings, and training workshops.

• Encourage student involvement and, when feasible, assist in inspiring incoming cohorts.

• Execute additional duties associated with the role and projects assigned by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Terminal degree — Doctorate (PhD, EdD, DBA, or equivalent) in a pertinent or related field; demonstrated record of academic publications.

• At least two (2) years of experience advising graduate research or supervising thesis/capstone projects; proven effectiveness in virtual or hybrid settings.

• Proficient in English (speaking, reading, and writing).

• Proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish is preferred.

• Advanced understanding of research methodology and academic writing standards.

• Familiarity with LMS platforms (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard) and MS Teams.

• Knowledge of data tracking/monitoring tools (e.g., Business Analytics).

• Exceptional organizational skills, adherence to deadlines, and attention to detail.

• Capable of providing feedback that is both empathetic and rigorous.
