This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serve as a representative and aide for the International Union in executing its comprehensive organizing initiatives.

• Formulate campaign strategies and maintain multi-faceted strategy tables to ensure effective execution of campaigns.

• Collaborate with and provide support to local unions at state, regional, and national levels.

• Design, implement, and enhance strategic organizing programs and campaigns.

• Oversee extensive campaigns and initiatives to meet campaign objectives and benchmarks.

• Evaluate campaign execution and provide recommendations for strategic decision-making.

• Manage campaign operations and establish data management systems for the collection, tracking, and analysis of campaign data.

• Supervise the application of digital organizing strategies and platforms.

• Represent SEIU in pertinent government agencies, legislative bodies, and coalitions.

• Determine strategic deployment of International Union staff and other resources.

• Manage campaign budgets and authorize expenditures.

• Oversee recruitment and management of campaign personnel.

• Collaborate with staff from the National Organizing Hub, Union departments, and Local and State Councils Leadership.

• Perform additional responsibilities in support of the International Union Organizing Program and/or Hubs.

• Independently manage personal work and the work of others with minimal supervision.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least ten (10) years of experience in external labor organizing; or a combination of eight (8) years in external labor organizing and two (2) years in internal labor organizing.

• A minimum of eight (8) years in campaign planning and management, including the development and oversight of multi-component campaigns and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

• At least seven (7) years of direct experience in supervisory roles or team management, including leading campaign teams and personnel.

• Capacity to identify and analyze key factors and conditions within a company, industry, market, and/or community to support campaign strategy formulation.

• Ability to design and manage comprehensive campaigns that integrate fieldwork, digital strategies, communications, research, legislative, political, and other components.

• Proficient in developing or directing narrative and communication strategies.

• Skilled in building relationships and alliances with coalition partners or allies and mobilizing community support.

• Experience in developing or directing political, legislative, or regulatory strategies and tactics.

• Capability to convene senior leaders from multiple locals into collaborative frameworks.

• Proficient in assessing campaign strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and making strategic adjustments.

• Familiarity with digital organizing platforms and tools, including Zoom, PurpleText or other P2P platforms, and Organizing VAN Dialer or similar direct dialer systems.

• Ability to establish campaign structures, systems, roles, and responsibilities.

• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to deliver formal presentations.

• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

• Proficient in utilizing planning and time-management tools and practices.

• Capable of managing multiple priority projects and adhering to established timelines.

• Ability to develop and conduct training for staff, workers, and members.

• Ability to effectively communicate political and policy priorities.

• Willingness to travel regularly and/or for extended periods as necessary.

• Ability to work long and irregular hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

• A four-year college or university degree is not mandatory, but is advantageous.
