CAD and Artificial Intelligence in Engineering Trainer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Provide practical, job-specific training on CAD systems, Generative Design, and the professional application of AI in engineering.

• Assist mechanical engineering professionals in their transition to contemporary digital product development.

• Aid participants in completing design tasks more effectively with the use of AI.

• Instruct on the proficient use of generative AI tools.

• Mentor participants in critically and professionally assessing technical solutions and AI-generated outcomes.

• Enhance modern CAD and engineering workflows.

• Educate on the responsible and cost-effective incorporation of AI into daily professional tasks.

• Guide participants through the digital engineering process—from initial design tasks to AI-assisted analysis, generative variant development, technical evaluation and optimization, documentation, and practical implementation.

• Empower participants to thoughtfully and successfully embrace new technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A completed degree or technical training in mechanical engineering, product development, design engineering, or a similar field.

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in design engineering, product development, or CAD engineering.

• Strong proficiency in at least one professional CAD system, such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Fusion.

• Practical experience with parametric design and contemporary CAD workflows.

• Comprehensive knowledge of current AI applications in engineering and CAD.

• Proven experience in utilizing generative AI solutions effectively, such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, or similar systems.

• Familiarity with AI-supported features in modern CAD systems, such as Generative Design or automated optimization.

• Capability to assess AI-generated outcomes from a technically sound perspective and to critically analyze them.

• A solid understanding of the opportunities, limitations, risks, and quality standards related to generative AI.

• Experience in delivering technical training to adults or similar training experience.

• Ideally, experience with Generative Design and topology optimization.

• Awareness of current advancements in AI for engineering.

• Experience in analyzing and optimizing design processes.

• Knowledge of parametric modeling and automated variant generation.

• Experience in prompt engineering for technical applications.

• Ability to incorporate AI into existing engineering workflows.

• Experience in evaluating the technical feasibility, manufacturability, and functionality of AI-generated solutions.

• Knowledge of data protection, copyright, and responsible AI usage in a corporate context.

• Experience in coaching, project work, or practical knowledge transfer.

• Ideally, experience with Autodesk Fusion Generative Design or similar solutions.

• Familiarity with Autodesk AI, SolidWorks AI, CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE AI, or comparable platforms.

• Experience with BIM-supported AI applications.

• Knowledge of Dynamo, Grasshopper, or other visual scripting tools.

• Experience with automation tools such as Python, Power Automate, or n8n.

• Understanding of digital product development, including Digital Twins, PLM, or simulation.

• Experience with AI-assisted documentation and knowledge management.

• Familiarity with modern cloud CAD systems.

• AEVO certification or a comparable pedagogical qualification is a plus.

• Several years of practical experience as a design engineer or development engineer in mechanical engineering.

• Active utilization of modern AI tools in everyday engineering tasks.
