This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee the complete procurement process for steel components, ensuring compliance with engineering and quality standards.
β’ Work in collaboration with Site Operations, Logistics, Engineering, Planning, and other departments to comprehend project needs and efficiently generate purchase orders (POs) in SAP.
β’ Ensure the accuracy of purchase item information and planning parameters within the ERP system.
β’ Establish and nurture strong supplier relationships to identify and mitigate risks related to delivery, quality, cost, and performance.
β’ Analyze procurement data to uncover cost-saving opportunities through vendor consolidation, market analysis, and aligning scopes with suitable suppliers.
β’ Lead supplier cost initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
β’ Collaborate with the supplier follow-up team to monitor and report on expedited and delayed material orders; resolve material shortages and issues with problematic parts.
β’ Partner with cross-functional teams (Accounting, Receiving, Production Planning, etc.) to address purchasing challenges such as quality nonconformance, design modifications, material scheduling, and price disputes.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience will be taken into account.
β’ At least 3 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing or Procurement, with a strong command of SAP for PR/PO generation, procurement modules, and planning tools.
β’ Demonstrated experience as a tactical buyer in steel, hardware, or metals.
β’ Familiarity with the CRU index and its role in tracking steel pricing trends.
β’ Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, machining, painting, and roll forming.
β’ Capability to leverage regional steel markets to ensure competitive pricing across owned product categories.
β’ Experience in managing procurement timelines and engineering change processes.
β’ Strong skills in supplier management, negotiation, and relationship development.
β’ Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
β’ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with PLM tools (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter) and Microsoft SharePoint is an advantage.
