This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete procurement process for steel components, ensuring compliance with engineering and quality standards.

• Work in collaboration with Site Operations, Logistics, Engineering, Planning, and other departments to comprehend project needs and efficiently generate purchase orders (POs) in SAP.

• Ensure the accuracy of purchase item information and planning parameters within the ERP system.

• Establish and nurture strong supplier relationships to identify and mitigate risks related to delivery, quality, cost, and performance.

• Analyze procurement data to uncover cost-saving opportunities through vendor consolidation, market analysis, and aligning scopes with suitable suppliers.

• Lead supplier cost initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

• Collaborate with the supplier follow-up team to monitor and report on expedited and delayed material orders; resolve material shortages and issues with problematic parts.

• Partner with cross-functional teams (Accounting, Receiving, Production Planning, etc.) to address purchasing challenges such as quality nonconformance, design modifications, material scheduling, and price disputes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience will be taken into account.

• At least 3 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing or Procurement, with a strong command of SAP for PR/PO generation, procurement modules, and planning tools.

• Demonstrated experience as a tactical buyer in steel, hardware, or metals.

• Familiarity with the CRU index and its role in tracking steel pricing trends.

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, machining, painting, and roll forming.

• Capability to leverage regional steel markets to ensure competitive pricing across owned product categories.

• Experience in managing procurement timelines and engineering change processes.

• Strong skills in supplier management, negotiation, and relationship development.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with PLM tools (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter) and Microsoft SharePoint is an advantage.
