This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Collaborate closely with the VP of Merchandising to implement seasonal and quarterly buying strategies that align with aesthetic, financial, and operational objectives.
β’ Oversee product development initiatives together with the Product Development team while pinpointing off-the-shelf product opportunities that complement proprietary offerings.
β’ Identify and manage relationships with off-the-shelf vendors, including negotiations on pricing, terms, lead times, and order quantities, while nurturing collaborative and long-term partnerships for the business.
β’ Evaluate vendor proposals and product samples; assess quality, design, and value to ensure compliance with Vesta standards.
β’ Take ownership of OTB spreadsheets to ensure accuracy across purchasing data, pricing, and timelines in a highly hands-on tracking environment with limited automation β advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets are essential.
β’ Collaborate closely with the Director of Supply Chain to implement demand plans, issue purchase orders, and manage vendor relations related to those purchases.
β’ Analyze assortment performance and curation against usage rates, staging cost per square foot targets, and overall sell-through rates.
β’ Work alongside Creative Directors to ensure an assortment that fulfills the needs of both designers and their clients.
β’ Identify and communicate assortment gaps and new product opportunities to the VP of Merchandising by keeping abreast of market trends, designer requirements, and industry innovations.
β’ Provide comprehensive reporting and insights on vendor performance, assortment health, and business opportunities to the VP of Merchandising.
β’ Keep organized and detail-oriented records of vendor communications and quarterly assortment planning.
β’ Exhibit a strong passion for excellent design and a keen eye for products, contributing to Vestaβs reputation for timeless, high-quality, and well-curated home furnishings.
β’ Approach responsibilities with flexibility, adaptability, and a spirit of collaboration, consistently seeking opportunities to innovate and advance the business.
β’ BA/BS Degree preferred; or equivalent professional experience.
β’ 5-7 years of experience in Buying/Merchandising.
