This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of, maintain, and enhance Samsara's Okta environments (commercial and StateRAMP/FedRAMP), which includes SSO integrations, group management, Okta Workflows automation, and governance of access policies.
• Design, develop, and provide support for integrations and automations utilizing Workato, including managing the OWL-IT IT Genie platform — Samsara's AI-driven IT service delivery and provisioning system.
• Manage and support Google Workspace, which encompasses Marketplace app management, configuration of groups and OUs, automation of offboarding processes, and governance of service accounts.
• Lead and participate in Identity & Access Management initiatives, which involve birthright provisioning, role-based access controls, Saviynt RBAC, and automation of access lifecycle.
• Serve as the primary IT engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) for StateRAMP/FedRAMP IT controls — responsible for scoping, implementing, documenting, and collecting evidence to meet compliance requirements.
• Provide Tier 3 escalation support for intricate, sensitive, and security-related IT incidents, including SCIM issues, provisioning failures, and authentication problems across identity-integrated systems.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including runbooks, architecture diagrams, access policies, and business process flows in Confluence.
• Collaborate with Security, GRC, and cross-functional IT teams to enhance the security posture of Samsara's identity and access management framework.
• Research, evaluate, and integrate new vendors and technologies into the IT stack, including exploring automation opportunities with tools such as Workato One, Vertex AI, and Gemini Enterprise.
• Mentor colleagues and assist in elevating the technical skills of the broader IT Engineering team.
• Advocate for, exemplify, and instill Samsara's cultural principles as the organization scales globally and expands into new locations.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Over 5 years of experience in an IT Systems Engineering role, including a minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience with Okta, covering SSO configuration, provisioning, group rules, Okta Workflows, and ITGC/SOX-compliant access controls.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining automation through Workato or comparable iPaaS platforms.
• Proficient in working with REST APIs (Python preferred) for the development of integrations and automations.
• Demonstrated experience in administering Google Workspace.
• Experience in implementing and supporting an Identity & Access Management solution within a corporate setting.
• Strong foundational knowledge in IT security, corporate systems, and compliance, with experience in contributing to audit-ready processes and documentation of controls.
