This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Achieve the principals’ volume, market share, and essential sales objectives (merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving) at the lowest cost while maximizing company revenue through brokerage, commissions, bonuses, and contest earnings.
• Convey the priorities of the principals to Retail Sales Managers, Sales Technology Managers (IT), Marketing Managers, Business Managers, and the retail selling team to ensure that in-store presence and business goals are accomplished.
• Report directly to the General Manager or Team Leader, overseeing and contributing to the development, design, and presentation of Acosta’s introduction to new principals.
• Build and sustain robust relationships with principals and customers, proactively engaging with key principals to promote collaboration and success.
• Facilitate ongoing communication between General Managers and key principals, and work alongside Retail Sales Managers on significant retail initiatives such as new product launches, sales drives, and contests.
• Organize principals’ market visits and key account calls, utilizing your understanding of the customer, market, and principal to effectively promote principals’ specific programs and initiatives.
• Utilize insights from the Senior Vice President, General Manager, Team Leaders, and Senior Business Managers to craft compelling sales presentations that align with principals’ objectives.
• Provide feedback on the effectiveness of principals’ strategies, sales programs, and initiatives to both the principal and the General Manager, and propose suggestions for enhancing organizational capacity and improving business performance.
• Maintain up-to-date account distribution data, review market pricing reports for accuracy and competitive activity, and gather and report on all competitive actions.
• Actively manage your personal skill development plan and share customer/manufacturer insights with team members to contribute to building organizational capacity.
• Ensure compliance with all client procedures and policies, achieve expertise in the client’s proprietary systems for managing promotional plans and fund balances, and monitor financial management closely, taking corrective actions when necessary, such as addressing deductions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall success of the business.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
• A proven track record in sales, preferably with a food broker or national company.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation, negotiation, and sales abilities.
• Capacity to analyze sales and marketing data to create effective sales presentations.
• Proficient in various software applications used to support the sales function.
