Business Intelligence Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary operator for the GCP data ecosystem: BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, and Cloud Storage, collaborating closely with IT to ensure security and access.

• Design and maintain Python-based ETL pipelines that extract data from source platforms such as Toggl, Rippling, Xero, and Salesforce, depositing it into BigQuery.

• Expand the pipeline portfolio to integrate new data sources and enhance reporting capabilities.

• Automate recurring operational processes, including scheduled data quality assessments, automated exports, and replacing ad-hoc scripts with dependable GCP functions.

• Take ownership of the entire Tableau dashboard portfolio for internal teams, overseeing data connections, SQL queries, refresh schedules, quality control, documentation, and issue resolution.

• Create new executive, director, and operational dashboards that highlight project financials, service line performance, and renewal insights.

• Ensure data integrity within the analytics layer and troubleshoot issues related to pipelines, dashboard logic, and source data.

• Uphold naming conventions, maintain schema documentation, and organize datasets in BigQuery.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for dashboard and pipeline failures, taking responsibility for their resolution.

• Collaborate with Business Operations, Finance, People & Talent, Sales, and IT to convert business requirements into effective data solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or a combination of these fields.

• Practical experience with GCP technologies, including BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, and Cloud Storage.

• Proficient in Python development, with a strong history of building and maintaining ETL pipelines; regular coding in Python is essential.

• Advanced SQL expertise, including experience with querying cloud data warehouses and addressing data quality challenges.

• Proficient in Tableau, with the ability to construct dashboards from the ground up.

• Experience in managing production reporting environments and troubleshooting data pipelines end-to-end.

• Familiarity with Git/GitHub version control practices.

• Capability to independently identify and resolve data issues across pipelines, dashboards, and source system layers.

• Excellent communication skills to convey technical data concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Codex.

• Proficiency in English at B2 level or above, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional English-speaking setting.

• Preferred: Experience in professional services, consulting, accounting, legal, engineering, or other project-based organizations.

• Preferred: Background in companies with 100–500 employees.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Azure.

• Preferred: Knowledge of data modeling and analytics engineering best practices, such as dbt or dimensional modeling.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting executive and director-level reporting and operational analytics.
