Business Intelligence Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions for essential business metrics.

• Take ownership of the reporting lifecycle from gathering requirements to deployment and continuous optimization.

• Oversee report accuracy, performance, data refreshes, and consistency of KPIs.

• Consistently enhance existing reporting assets as business needs change.

• Construct and manage scalable data pipelines utilizing Microsoft Fabric technologies such as Lakehouses, Warehouses, and Data Pipelines.

• Develop semantic models and facilitate self-service analytics initiatives.

• Ensure data governance, quality, and consistency throughout systems.

• Work collaboratively with technical teams to enhance data architecture and integrations.

• Integrate and analyze data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and ERP systems.

• Create dashboards that reflect sales pipeline performance, customer activity, account performance, inventory levels, and operational metrics.

• Ensure data integrity across various systems to provide a cohesive business view.

• Examine business trends, anomalies, and potential opportunities.

• Provide regular business insight reports and executive presentations.

• Identify risks and opportunities prior to their substantial impact on performance.

• Develop forecasting models, trend analyses, and scenario planning initiatives.

• Collaborate with leaders from sales, operations, and finance teams.

• Convert business needs into analytical solutions.

• Advocate for data literacy and support self-service reporting initiatives.

• Document KPIs, reporting logic, and analytical standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Reporting, or a related field.

• Advanced proficiency with Power BI, including data modeling and dashboard creation.

• Strong practical experience with Microsoft Fabric.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM analytics and reporting.

• Strong SQL skills for querying and transforming data.

• Experience in translating complex data into insights suitable for executives.

• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities.

• Strong analytical thinking coupled with commercial awareness.

• Experience supporting operations across Europe or multiple countries.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Purview and Azure Data Services.

• Experience in forecasting or predictive analytics.

• Background in manufacturing, distribution, or wholesale industries.

• Exposure to Power Automate for workflow automation.
