This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Africa.
• The Business Development Manager will be tasked with enhancing the organization’s market presence across various locations.
• Key responsibilities involve identifying, developing, defining, negotiating, and finalizing business relationships while driving measurable financial growth for the company.
• Establish long-term strategic business goals, strengthen relationships with existing clients, and identify fresh business opportunities.
• Negotiate and finalize business agreements while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of current market dynamics.
• Conduct thorough market surveys and mapping, providing detailed reports on industry trends.
• Accountable for increasing sales opportunities and maximizing revenue for the organization.
• Identify potential new customers, cultivate those relationships, and ultimately convert leads into clients.
• Manage current client relationships while developing new business prospects.
• Work in collaboration with local businesses to secure necessary resources and services.
• Partner with the country manager to devise strategies for the successful rollout of product lines.
• Research and pinpoint new business opportunities, including emerging markets, growth sectors, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, ideally in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Humanities, or related fields.
• Membership in a relevant professional body is advantageous.
• 8-10 years of pertinent experience is required.
• Must possess strong interpersonal, writing, organizational, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with the consulting landscape in Uganda is essential.
• Proficient in Excel reporting, forecasting, and utilizing business tools, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
• A solid understanding of local politics to ensure compliance with laws and regulations is necessary.
• Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Demonstrated proficiency in pricing, quotation, and proposal drafting.
• Ability to consistently prioritize competing demands in a results-oriented and client-focused environment.
• Exhibits emotional intelligence, leadership qualities, and strong soft skills.
• A good understanding of the organization’s products or services, with the ability to influence others about them.
• Experience with CRM systems and managing clients/candidates' databases is required.
