Business Development Manager, Data Center Power

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Create and implement sales strategies aimed at achieving the company's revenue goals while broadening the client base within the data center power infrastructure sector.

• Perform comprehensive market research to uncover potential clients, industry trends, and the competitive landscape within the data center and critical power supply chain, including hyperscalers, colocation providers, utilities, and EPC firms.

• Identify, engage, and secure new clients from data center operators, hyperscalers, colocation providers, and the utilities/EPCs responsible for building and powering their facilities.

• Cultivate and sustain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders—such as facilities, electrical engineering, and reliability teams—within targeted organizations.

• Oversee and guide the full sales cycle, from initial outreach to sales negotiations and closure, collaborating closely with the Power and Industrial sales teams.

• Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote products and services while establishing valuable industry connections.

• Develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

• Prepare and present engaging presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations to potential clients.

• Work together with the global marketing team to create sales materials, case studies, and other promotional content.

• Collaborate with global product management and development, regional marketing, and customer support teams to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives.

• Monitor and report on sales metrics, pipeline status, and business development activities.

• Assess and analyze the effectiveness of business development strategies and provide data-driven recommendations for enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field (Master's or MBA preferred).

• At least 5 years of experience in the electrical utility industry or the commercial infrastructure sector.

• Proven experience in business development and sales.

• Background working with utilities, data center operators, EPCs, or power equipment manufacturers.

• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to power transformers, switchgear, and facility reliability.

• Experience in selling precision instrumentation or condition-monitoring solutions; global account management experience is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of power transformer health monitoring, dissolved gas analysis (DGA), and moisture-in-oil measurement.

• Familiarity with medium voltage systems, BESS, or critical electrical infrastructure is highly advantageous.

• Understanding of data center uptime/reliability requirements and how power asset failures impact outage risk.

• A proven history of building strategic relationships and driving sales growth in a technical B2B environment.

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
