
Business Development Manager – Civil Specifications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +10 more states.
• Promote and specify Siteworks product lines among civil, plumbing, mechanical, and site development engineers across the United States.
• Establish trench drain solutions as a foundational element within engineering specifications.
• Identify and engage with key engineers throughout the country.
• Build and nurture relationships with engineers, specifiers, and design professionals.
• Educate engineers on the features, benefits, and applications of Siteworks products, including trench and interceptors.
• Deliver product presentations, lunch-and-learns, technical seminars, and onsite training sessions.
• Position Zurn Siteworks as the foundational design choice in specifications for commercial, industrial, municipal, and site development projects.
• Review project drawings and specifications to spot opportunities for product substitution.
• Collaborate with manufacturer representatives and sales teams.
• Provide technical support and guidance to both internal teams and external partners.
• Utilize the company CRM to document interactions, track project specifications, and manage the opportunity pipeline.
• Communicate job opportunities and project updates to pertinent team members.
• Leverage Dodge Construction Network and ConstructConnect to identify upcoming projects and monitor specifications.
• Offer insights on market trends, competitive activities, and specification challenges.
• Enhance basis-of-design specification share, conduct educational initiatives, and drive revenue growth.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in specification business development within the plumbing industry.
• Ability to influence engineering specifications and promote product adoption.
• Strong technical aptitude with the capacity to comprehend and communicate complex product information.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Active involvement in relevant industry associations is advantageous.
