This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Identify, prioritize, and target large OEM prospects within the Steel Buildings and Construction ecosystem.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of OEM value chains, decision-making frameworks, and long-term growth strategies.
• Actively create opportunities in the absence of formal RFQs or existing demand.
• Build and maintain relationships with C-suite executives, commercial, technical, and operational personnel at target OEMs.
• Serve as a trusted advisor, emphasizing long-term value over transactional sales approaches.
• Lead intricate opportunities with multi-year timelines, from initial concept and qualification to approval, industrialization, and first commercialization.
• Coordinate efforts among internal cross-functional teams, including technical, R&D, supply chain, pricing, legal, and operations.
• Navigate ambiguity, adapt to evolving requirements, and manage shifting timelines with discipline and structure.
• Develop and negotiate commercial frameworks, pricing strategies, and models for long-term partnerships.
• Construct business cases that align with strategic growth, profitability, and capacity planning objectives.
• Ensure alignment between customer requirements and internal strategic priorities.
• Transition accounts to Key Account Management or Commercial Operations once the business is established and stable.
• Over 10 years of experience in Business Development, Strategic Sales, or Market Development, ideally within the Steel buildings, Construction materials, Industrial OEM sectors, Coatings, metals, engineered products, or related industries.
• Demonstrable history of acquiring new OEM customers rather than managing existing accounts.
• Proven success in managing lengthy, complex sales cycles (12–36+ months).
• Strong business acumen with the capability to connect market strategy, pricing, margin, and volume growth effectively.
• Excellent negotiation skills with experience in structuring long-term agreements.
• Exceptional ability to build relationships at all levels within the organization.
• High emotional intelligence, credibility, and executive presence.
• Ability to influence without authority; skilled at aligning internal and external stakeholders.
• Strategic, patient, and resilient; adept at managing ambiguity and delayed results.
• Long-term perspective with the discipline to remain engaged over multi-year projects.
