
Business Development Director – Sales – Electric Buses

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Overseeing the origination and advancement of electric vehicle (EV) projects
• Cultivating and nurturing customer relationships with entities such as bus operators, fleet operators, and municipal transit authorities
• Crafting compelling value propositions and competitive proposals
• Structuring contractual agreements
• Sponsoring high-quality internal investment committee papers
• Building strategic alliances with vehicle OEMs, charger manufacturers, technical consultants, regulators, utilities, and financial institutions to facilitate business growth
• Leading a business development team to create financial models
• Assisting in the day-to-day development of business cases for projects until deal closure
• Creating sales and marketing materials, and representing the firm at conferences when appropriate
• Acting as the public representative of the firm for fleets and managing client relationships
• Leading, motivating, and mentoring a successful sales team across Germany, ensuring individual and team objectives are achieved in line with targets
• Proficiency in both English and German
• A demonstrated leader and salesperson with a strong drive to close deals and achieve targets
• A high-quality educational background (bachelor’s or master’s degree), preferably in engineering or finance
• A genuine passion for clean energy and our social and environmental mission
• Significant professional experience (10+ years) in commercial/business development, ideally within the transportation sector and with a background in electrification
• An established network of clients in the bus/fleet sector and credibility at a senior management level
• Strong commercial acumen, comfortable with legal agreements, project development, and financing
• Excellent communication abilities, capable of delivering financial analyses and sales presentations
• Strong organizational skills, a team player, and meticulous attention to detail
• Robust leadership skills with a growth-oriented mindset
• Results-driven and willing to take accountability
• Capability to deliver outcomes within budget constraints
• Willingness to travel frequently across Germany
• Eagerness to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and entrepreneurial setting
