This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• The Business Development Director is anticipated to be a subject matter expert on the market dynamics in Iberia, with a specific focus on Data Centre Development and Hyperscale expansion to formulate a strategy that encourages targeted investment.
• Identify both organic and inorganic opportunities to enhance Zayo Europe's reach, capabilities, and relevance within Iberia and throughout Europe.
• Responsible for supporting sales-driven directives and strategically identified investment opportunities.
• Establish strategic relationships and manage existing agreements to foster mutually beneficial business outcomes for both parties.
• Aid in the creation of programmatic initiatives that will generate multiple revenue streams across newly connected Data Centres and expanded assets.
• Offer insights into the competitive landscape and pricing strategies while ensuring accurate reporting.
• Engage directly with field sales directors and teams to support sales efforts from opportunity identification to closure.
• Drive sales results in accounts linked to strategic partnerships.
• Facilitate and promote sales team engagement through education, targeted support, Executive-level presentations, and other necessary tools and methods to assist the organization in achieving the assigned sales targets.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, or Economics or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of 8+ years’ experience in sales, business development, product management, account management, or sales engineering, including familiarity with business customer applications in dark fibre, fibre optic construction, and network services.
• Strong understanding of the cloud, colocation, and data centre ecosystem.
• Good comprehension of the regulated industry (Government, Utilities) processes for contracting services.
• Solid grasp of Fibre, Transport, and Layer 3 Services (Dark Fiber, Private Dedicated Networks, Fiber Construction Services, Wavelengths, Ethernet, IP Transit, and Cloud Interconnection).
• Strong business judgement, proven ability to influence others, and excellent analytical thinking skills are essential for success in this role.
• Familiarity with the fibre business and experience with fibre lease or IRU contracts in the past.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various functional teams, along with strong interpersonal skills for supporting and advising sales teams on appropriate systems and processes.
• Proficient PC skills, including MS Office, G-Suite, and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
• Strong business acumen.
• Language proficiency: Spanish and English. Additional European languages would be beneficial, though not essential.
