This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Engage with clients through meetings, calls, and emails at biotech, pharmaceutical, and diagnostics companies, CROs, and academic institutions to identify and discuss their clinical sample and research service needs.
• Be prepared for travel up to 50% of the time.
• Utilize professional selling techniques to pitch and present the research services and solutions offered by Discovery Life Sciences.
• Organize and coordinate significant strategic meetings between the senior scientific leadership of customers and relevant Company leadership to secure large-scale projects with considerable revenue potential.
• Develop expertise in the Company’s core areas to effectively engage in discussions about projects with R&D teams, business directors, legal departments, and purchasing managers.
• Present client projects to Discovery Life Sciences’ procurement Feasibility team, Scientific leadership team, and both internal and external collaborators, while assisting in project evaluation.
• Efficiently manage an opportunity pipeline (25-50+ open opportunities) and Feasibility case queue, ensuring next steps and customer feedback are regularly updated.
• Proactively advance calls and secure business by establishing clear next steps and executing them effectively.
• Employ logic, reasoning, and scientific knowledge to close deals, rather than relying on discounts.
• Relay market intelligence back to the team (Management, Business Unit Leadership, Sales, Marketing, etc.) by documenting sales calls and client feedback.
• Collaborate effectively with inside sales support professionals, Global Account Managers, other Business Development Directors, Marketing, and Feasibility teams to enhance sales success in the designated territory.
• Generate various reports for clients as required.
• Uphold the privacy of personal information related to patients, colleagues, and all individuals the Company interacts with.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing the Company and its operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, which may occasionally be unrelated to the position described.
• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance as a fundamental aspect of the role.
• A Bachelor’s degree in life sciences is required; a Master's, MBA, or PhD is preferred.
• At least three (3) years of experience in biotech-related sales is preferred.
• A strong motivation to communicate directly with potential clients through both email and phone.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients and prospects.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cohesive team.
• Formal sales training is preferred.
• A team-oriented mindset and a passion for achieving goals.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Docs is desirable but not mandatory.
