This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• The Business Development Director spearheads a regional team dedicated to generating demand, broadening project opportunities, and reinforcing strategic partnerships within targeted markets.
• Collaborating closely with Key Account Managers (KAMs) and Sales District Managers (SDMs), this role engages with end users, consultants, and A&E firms early in the sales process to shape specifications and enhance the adoption of Electro-Voice Dynacord solutions.
• This position is integral to enhancing product awareness and technical knowledge throughout the sales organization.
• Direct and oversee two distinct business development teams, each operating with a unique focus and model.
• Lead a team of seasoned industry professionals who possess established connections with consultants, end users, the construction ecosystem, and strategic partners.
• Build, recruit, and nurture a dynamic, growth-oriented team responsible for identifying and pursuing whitespace opportunities and generating new business directly with end customers.
• Formulate and implement regional and/or vertical-market strategies, action plans, and relationships that significantly influence the specification and procurement of Electro-Voice Dynacord solutions.
• Identify, qualify, and develop target clients based on business potential and industry influence.
• Generate, manage, and secure project leads within designated regions and focus verticals.
• Recognize emerging opportunities and optimize existing market potential.
• Participate in industry and trade association events and assist with public relations initiatives.
• Cultivate relationships with specifiers, influencers, and decision-makers across assigned industry segments and accounts.
• Present and customize technical and commercial solutions to meet customer requirements while ensuring consistent follow-up.
• Collect and convey market trends, customer feedback, product needs, and end-user insights to internal stakeholders.
• Ensure that all client interactions and industry appearances are in line with Electro-Voice Dynacord's business objectives and professional standards.
• Support the sales process from initial relationship building through needs analysis, strategic account planning, product demonstrations, solution specification, proposal development, and project closure.
• Coordinate both internal and external resources—including SDMs, KAMs, Product Management, and partners—to advance and finalize opportunities.
• Work closely with sales teams to facilitate bids, installations, and engagement with strategic partners.
• An Associate’s degree is highly desirable; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred in a technical field, marketing, management, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience with professional audio products, encompassing customer-facing roles, ideally at the manufacturer level.
• Preferably five (5) or more years of relevant experience.
• Industry affiliations and certifications are strongly preferred.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong presentation and customer engagement capabilities.
• Self-driven with outstanding organizational, follow-up, and integrative skills.
• Practical knowledge and experience in the design and installation of IP/IT products, professional audio, or communication solutions.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions.
• Appropriately assertive and diplomatic, with the capability to influence the organization.
• Ability to build trust, credibility, and lasting professional relationships.
• Consistent and reliable in both actions and communication.
• Resourceful, action-oriented, and persistent in overcoming obstacles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
