Business Development Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Attain annual sales objectives for a specific region while expanding the client base in emerging markets.

• Create and deliver client presentations; oversee the internal proposal development process, which includes drafting proposals, estimating costs, and ensuring quality control of proposal documents.

• Assist the VP and Contracts team during the contract negotiation process; lead negotiations for selected clients.

• Spearhead business development marketing initiatives by participating in trade and scientific conferences and collaborating with the Marketing and Scientific teams to produce brochures, web content, and presentations.

• Frequently engage with current and potential sponsors to ensure a comprehensive understanding of AcelaBio’s offerings and assess satisfaction levels.

• Collaborate with the Project Operations team to stay informed about project updates and milestones to enhance client relationships.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or Honors Bachelor’s) with 5-8 years of relevant experience; OR a college diploma with at least 8 years of pertinent experience.

• Ability to serve EST-based clients.

• A degree in science or business is preferred; industry experience is essential.

• Demonstrated success in B2B sales and business development within the clinical research or related life sciences services sector.

• Competence in analyzing market trends and evaluating competitor positioning.

• Excellent communication skills tailored for technical, scientific, and executive audiences; experience in proposal development, RFP responses, and contract negotiations.

• Strategic business development skills with a proven ability to expand a regional client base in a CRO or life sciences context.

• Management of executive-level client relationships and complex negotiations involving multiple stakeholders.
