Business Controller, Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with finance stakeholders, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to assess new trading strategies, identify financial requirements, and coordinate implementation across accounting, tax, treasury, and operations.

• Act as a trusted advisor to the business by navigating the Finance organization on their behalf, minimizing friction during product launches, and ensuring that the appropriate stakeholders are informed and consulted at every stage.

• Create comprehensive documentation of fund flows, significant financial risks, and accounting treatment decisions, along with providing regular status updates to executive management.

• Define, design, and implement financial controls in collaboration with business and process owners to mitigate key risks and ensure operational effectiveness for audit and regulatory compliance.

• Work alongside external vendors and IT partners to automate manual processes and develop scalable workflows that support the expansion of Coinbase's product portfolio.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or controllership, with direct involvement in crypto exchanges, fintech, or financial services product operations.

• CPA certification (or in progress) with a strong foundation in technical accounting, ideally including experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm.

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate across accounting, tax, legal, treasury, and operations teams to facilitate product launches from initial scoping through to go-live.

• Proven experience in scoping and implementing financial controls to address significant risks in new or evolving business processes, including documenting fund flows and accounting treatment decisions.

• Employs generative AI responsibly, ensuring human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and enhance workflow efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
