This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver analytical and strategic assistance in negotiations regarding healthcare provider rates.
• Skillfully influence contracting processes in a strategic manner and present valuable options during negotiations with healthcare providers.
• Actively seek opportunities for unit cost enhancement and collaborate with contracting to incorporate these into negotiations and planning where suitable.
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses and in-depth data investigations as necessary to support negotiations and add value for our contracting partners.
• Review reports and communicate findings and recommendations to business partners at various organizational levels.
• Contribute to the planning process for provider unit costs.
• Guide contractors in setting targets that align with or surpass corporate objectives, ensuring robust competitive positioning.
• Keep management updated on the progress of financial planning and proactively identify risks and opportunities to achieve planned results.
• Maintain effective communication with other analysts to discover new opportunities and exchange best practices.
• Mentor and train business partners and fellow analysts.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Health Policy Analysis, Finance, or a related field.
• Preferred knowledge of standard medical coding, including CPT-IV, ICD-10, DRG, revenue codes, and HCPCS.
• At least 2 years of experience in healthcare data analysis preferred.
• Experience in trend analysis and healthcare provider contract analysis preferred.
• Familiarity with various data mining and reporting tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, or SAS/SQL.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to validate and interpret results.
• Capacity to independently conduct data analysis while managing multiple projects and adhering to tight deadlines.
• Ability to influence and drive strategic planning, action plan development, and execution of plans by engaging business partners, educating on key drivers and actionable levers, and thoroughly understanding market-level dynamics.
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and group presentation abilities.
• Understanding of managed care business processes, data, systems, and applications for claims payment, enrollment, benefit design, and utilization management.
