Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead consultations and conduct stakeholder meetings.

• Develop business requirements, functional specifications, and technical requirements.

• Establish new business and technical processes.

• Conduct reviews and re-engineering of existing business processes.

• Facilitate sessions aimed at improving business processes.

• Assist in the development of new IT services.

• Schedule, organize, and lead project status meetings and other necessary gatherings.

• Serve as a communication link between vendors, client ministries, and corporate technical and business teams.

• Escalate unresolved issues and risks, providing options and recommendations.

• Design business architecture and specifications for software systems.

• Perform database modeling.

• Engage in iterative development utilizing model-based processes.

• Execute project management, business and technical analysis, and systems design for complex software solutions across n-tier development environments.

• Generate project artifacts using XML, UML, and/or other web services technologies.

• Prepare, update, and oversee business requirements, software requirements, functional design, project plans, and timelines.

• Compile regular project status reports that encompass deliverables, risks, issues, timelines, and anticipated efforts.

• Ensure effective communication occurs with all parties involved throughout the project phases.

• Identify required user training needs.

• Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager for the roles of Business Analyst or Lead Technical Analyst.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in a Senior Technical Business Analyst role.

• Professional background in Information Technology (IT).

• Proven experience in performing business and technical analysis and systems design for complex software solutions across n-tier development environments.

• History of creating business requirements, functional specifications, and technical requirements.

• Expertise in business architecture design, software system specifications design, and database modeling.

• Familiarity with iterative development using model-based processes.

• Experience in producing project artifacts with XML, UML, and/or other web services technologies.

• Background in business process reviews, re-engineering, and process improvement.

• Proficient in facilitating stakeholder consultations, meetings, and business process improvement sessions.

• Experience in preparing and managing business requirements, software requirements, functional design, project plans, and schedules.

• Capability to identify user training requirements.

• Ability to facilitate communication between vendors, client ministries, and corporate technical and business teams.

• Competence in escalating issues and risks while providing options and recommendations.
