This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Cultivate client relationships to create submission opportunities and maintain a consistent influx of business.
• Evaluate submission documents received in order to compile additional information, including loss pictures/summaries, loss stratifications, risk summaries, narratives, online research, and requests for further information needed from clients.
• Identify and present the risk, categorized by line of coverage, to markets in order to negotiate terms and pricing.
• Provide comparisons and illustrations to evaluate options and assist in the client presentation process.
• Utilize knowledge of automated systems to generate information for new or renewal policies.
• Prepare quotations for agents and respond to inquiries from agents, policyholders, or prospects.
• Assess requests for cancellations, endorsements, and other related matters.
• Review policies for renewal consideration and remarketing opportunities.
• Request any additional documentation necessary for processing applications, endorsements, or cancellations.
• Conduct marketing visits to agents and participate in industry events.
• Collaborate with support associates, assistants, and central processing to ensure that work is completed promptly and accurately.
• This may involve providing mentorship and guidance to team members working with you on risks.
• Execute other duties as assigned.
• Must possess a Producer’s License.
• A minimum of 3 years of insurance experience is required.
• Prior experience in insurance brokerage activities is preferred.
• Basic computer literacy is necessary.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Strong analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• A high sense of urgency is important.
• Resourcefulness and a controlled assertive demeanor are key characteristics.
• Proven negotiation and sales skills are required.
• Technical knowledge of insurance coverage forms and their application to various exposures is necessary.
• Familiarity with departmental regulations and policies is important.
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments within the parameters of provided instructions, prescribed routines, and standard underwriting practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with Staff and Company Underwriters.
• Experience with standard underwriting practices and procedures is essential.
• Completion of associated classes or courses, and/or relevant industry licenses or designations is preferred.
